The Law Offices of Richard Hanus is proud to announce that the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Chicago Chapter honored Richard Hanus, on June 14, 2022, by presenting him with the “Minsky Beacon of Light Award.” The Beacon of Light Award is presented annually to an attorney who stands out in their dedication to the advancement of the field of immigration law and as an outstanding mentor to fellow immigration lawyers.
AILA chose Richard Hanus for the honor for his leadership as a mentor and advocate as well as for his roles heading up AILA governmental liaison committees, including with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Citizenship and Immigration Services Chicago Field Office and State of Illinois’ Secretary of State’s Motor Vehicle Division. This award is also an acknowledgement of Richard’s strong commitments to the practice of immigration law and immigration law education, as a regular lecturer at national and local legal conferences.
